Senior Sales Representative – Health and Safety

Title: Senior Sales Representative, Health & Safety

Kwikpoint is currently seeking a senior sales representative for its health and public safety market.  This market is made up of two sectors. The most critical sector is producing electronic and print publications that support patient education, primarily instructions for use for home medical devices used in the home for respiratory, infusion pump, diabetes and wound therapy.  These publications are sold primarily to medical device manufacturers.

The second sector supports translations for limited English speaking communications.  Historically, Kwikpoint has sold millions of publications to hospitals, other clinical facilities and first responders.  These publications support language translation requirements when two people do not speak the same language and there is no interpretation resource available.  We are developing and selling online learning topics for this same market and the same users in the customer base. 

The territory for this position is the United States.  Travel is required and would expect that the sales representative would be out of the office on travel about 30% of the time.  Kwikpoint will consider candidates that are not in the Washington metro area and would work remotely.

Specifically, the position includes:

Identifying and closing business with companies and organizations of various sizes.
Establishing, developing, maintaining, building and creating lasting relationships with new and existing customers.
Mandatory cold calling both electronically and face-to-face.

Kwikpoint is a leader in publishing learning courseware, user guides, reference material and cultural and demographical sensitive language translation communications content in both print and electronic media.  Kwikpoint’s key differentiator from other publishers is our 25 years experience of producing content with minimal text and extensive use of images.  Our core markets are the military, health care and domestic security.  Our development process includes research using subject matter experts and rapid, iterative development with extensive feedback from usability testing from content users to ensure accuracy and improve performance.

Position Description:

The successful hire must develop solutions-based sales relationships by identifying problem areas for the customer and positioning either existing or new publications and content as the solution.  Engages in direct one-to-one and one-to-many communication with customer makes sales presentations, deploys proposals and other promotional material to persuade existing or new customers to buy Kwikpoint products.  Performs field promotion work and develops new accounts.  Demonstrates products and provides assistance in the best application of products.  Answers questions concerning products with the support of other company staff.  Contacts prospects and explains features and merits of products utilizing persuasive sales techniques.  Closes transactions and takes orders for products. 

Develop new accounts and increase sales with existing customers that align with Kwikpoint’s goal in improving the human condition.
Build Home Medical Device and overall Health and Safety market by identifying, developing, establishing formal relationships with companies, agencies and organizations.
Responsible for contributing to the Health & Safety publication strategic objectives of revenue growth, market leadership and quality customer service through the sale of Kwikpoint’s development and publication of health & safety products and the development of new customers.



Meet or exceed sales goals determined in collaboration with Kwikpoint leadership.
Develop and implement Health & Safety Marketing and Sales Plan.
Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners and/or customers – discover and explore opportunities.
Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, deal potential and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending investments.
Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying the fit of the organization or agency with Kwikpoint’s mission; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners or customers needs and goals.
Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with Kwikpoint operations.
Ensure that sales and sales management processes are clearly designed, communicated, and operate effectively.  
Remains informed of new products and other general information of interest to customers and prospects in the target sectors of health and safety literacy.


Monitors and gathers information on competitive activities.
Attends industry conferences, trade shows and workshops.
Identify trendsetter ideas by researching market and related events, publications and announcements, tracing individual contributors and their accomplishments


Ensure appropriate use of corporate systems for managing and monitoring sales activities.
Support other members of Kwikpoint in Best Practices for Health & Safety sales.
Assists marketing and product development in field projects including testing, market surveys, product idea evaluations and competitive research.
Protect Kwikpoint’s value by keeping confidential information confidential.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; creating and maintaining personal networks.
Enhance Kwikpoint’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value.
Provide project management with market requirements and opportunities.
Help Marketing produce effective marketing communications and campaigns.
Support Kwikpoint staff as needed when needed for activities that may be unrelated to Health & Safety.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of proven success in selling solutions to the health care market, in particular to clinical operations and/or medical device manufacturers.
Solid understanding and experience with procurement practices of state and local government agencies.
Strong and active network in the health care and/or public safety first responder communities.
Proven experience collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve corporate objectives.

Additional Knowledge and Skills

Experience in selling patient education solutions.
Experience in selling online learning courseware.
Relationships with device manufacturers, federal agencies such as the FDA and the CDC and other organizations that make up the labeling content space.
Familiarity with health care trade shows, publications and associations.
Bachelor’s degree and preferably an advanced degree in business administration or public health.


The compensation for this position is a combination of base and performance that should exceed $175,000.  Specific details will be shared in the search process and will be commensurate with experience and value of the candidate.
